    Bank Run Gravel

    The “run of the bank” is dug out of the ground at the sand and gravel processing site. Rocks, dirt, silt and sand etc. may be present. Fine, medium or coarse Bank Run is selected to suit its use as a driveway subbase, base for roads, under slabs, select fill, trench and septic backfill. Another name used for this item is “gravel”, usually brown or gray in color.

    A Washed Gravel crushed to 1.5″ minus to meet NYS 304.11M, & 304.13M. It is our version of Crushed Stone Item 4 and can be used for all the same uses except if NYS 304.12 is specified. (In this case use our Crushed Bluestone Item #4, available at our Billings Plant.)

  • Crushed Bank Run Item #4

    Crushed Bank Run Item #4

    A NYS DOT Specified material. Bank Run Gravel Item 4 meets NYS Spec Items 304.11M, 304.13M. It is used for road base and driveways. It consists of Crushed Bank Run, which contains sand, dirt and up to 2″ stone. This Item 4 is brown and looks like an old dirt road when applied and compacted. Recommended to be put down when dry weather is forecasted until surface can be compacted.

    Crushed Bluestone Item #4

    A NYS DOT Specified material. Bluestone Item 4 meets all NYS Spec Items 304 and consists of Crushed Stone. This Item 4 is blue/gray in color. Used on primary roads or longer driveways, to attain a durable compressed roadway base.
